Fares for locals have actually been banned by EU law for almost 15 years. These days, the topic is highly topical again - keyword: Freizeitticket Tirol. A lawsuit against alleged unequal treatment has been stopped for the time being, but it is not yet off the table. An entrepreneur wants to know a lifeline for local tariffs.

The VKI (Association for Consumer Information) had filed a lawsuit against the Freizeitticket Tirol. A card that offers discounts for locals. On the initiative of the Tyrolean Chamber of Labor, the lawsuit was stopped for the time being. There will be further talks, but this does not mean it is off the table.
