Vienna is regarded as the economic engine of the country. The key figures are better than in the rest of Austria. But there are also problems. If Vienna does not take countermeasures, there could be consequences for the whole of Austria. 

Austria's mountain of debt is growing. The city estimated the 2024/25 double budget at 40 billion euros, and the debt was also forecast at 2.1 billion euros for 2024 and 2.2 billion euros for 2025. However, more recent forecasts show that these figures will not hold.
