When should you offer your seat?

Author, cabaret artist and expert on human nature Stefan Vögel answers questions that others don't even dare to ask. This time it's about the question of who is allowed to sit on buses, streetcars and trains - and who should stand up. 

Giving up your seat on the bus or subway is one of those things: what seems like selflessness to the person offering the seat can seem like an insult to the person being offered it. After all, offering a seat always ultimately boils down to a comparison between two people, whereby both naturally have a different assessment of themselves and their counterpart.
