Shortly after hatching, young turkeys in Italy have their toes melted off, while farmers in Austria are fighting for their livelihoods. The Austrian Farmers' Union wants to counteract the trend towards cruel profit maximization with its own plan.

While the mass production of food is constantly reaching new heights in the EU and around the world, Austria's farmers are taking better and more sustainable paths in many areas.
