It’s about to get wild: MMA elite shake the cage!
The beat goes on! The preliminary fights of the Cage Fight Series 18 at Schwarzlsee are over, now our PLUS subscribers(get your offer here!) can watch selected main card duels in the livestream above!
It has become a tradition. When cage fighters clash at the Schwarzl Leisure Center in Premstätten near Graz, the "Krone" also peers intently through the cage bars. And with it all PLUS subscribers!
Today they will not only get to see the complete CFS preliminary program (Prelims), in which young talents, diamonds in the rough and experienced professional contenders will be on display. Selected fights from the main program with (inter)national top fighters will also be streamed live.
A stage as a UFC springboard
Since 2007, Austria's MMA pioneers, the brothers Gerhard and Michael Ettl, have been providing a stage for the tough fighters of the mixed martial arts scene. Amateurs see the series, which is highly regarded in Central Europe, as a springboard into the professional ranks. But "seasoned" professionals also take part, even UFC veterans such as Ricco Rodriguez (US) or "Brasilo" Wagner Silver Gomes once took part in the Cage Fight Series.
Bogdan Grad, who trained at the Ettls' Champions Gym in Graz and was a frequent CFS champion, was the first Styrian to make the leap into the MMA Olympus. While his third UFC fight will take place in Doha on November 22, 18 other "caliber" fighters are aiming to hit the bull's eye today at the Cage Fight Series. Want a small selection?
- In addition to Anas Hamdaoui and Sebastian Tomschitz, another local hero is providing plenty of excitement in a capital city duel in the prelims! Marcel Stoff demands revenge for a split-decision defeat suffered in June against Rahim Ismailov from Vienna's MT Gym 23. The fight post on Instagram had barely been announced when it received over 80,000 hits!
- Vienna's David Travnicek from Hiro Gym takes on the Brazilian Eduardo Fransisco . Known for his creative disguises and sometimes curious entrance music, the 31-year-old "Traffo" wants to extend his professional record to 6:1 victories.
- IMMAF World Champion and European Champion Elias Erber delights his fans with his professional debut. Because his planned opponent dropped out, "No Time" was briefly put on hold. Now Anzor Arsanov has stepped in.
- Daniel Schordje is facing what is probably his most important fight to date. Against "Brasilo" Geovane Vargas, the 34-year-old not only wants to celebrate his ninth win in his tenth professional fight. In fact, he hopes to win a ticket to the top Central European organization "Oktagon". "They really want him," says Ettl.
