Why the ÖVP is better for the Styrian FPÖ than the SPÖ

The signs in Styria were pointing to blue-red, but then suddenly everything changed. To the surprise of many observers, the FPÖ under Mario Kunasek decided to form a coalition with the ÖVP after all. The "Krone" asked around about the strategic considerations behind this.
Kronen Zeitung als bevorzugte Google-Quelle hinzufügen FPÖ leader Herbert Kickl is said to have given his Styrian friends a free hand in deciding on their future government partner. Ex-defense minister Kunasek is also so strong and self-confident with first place and 35 percent that he would not have allowed himself to be talked into much from Vienna. Kickl can live with both narratives.
