Waiting in the Ramsau

Avalanche protection: Ramsau will have to wait until 2026

In a few weeks, it will be the sixth anniversary of the major avalanche event on 15 January 2019 in Ramsau in Upper Styria. The tourist community has been waiting just as long for a protective wall. This won't happen in the coming winter season either; it won't be ready until 2026 at the earliest.

Peace still prevails in the municipality of Ramsau. The landscape at the foot of the Dachstein is characterized by bright yellow-orange larch and maple trees, the sky is ice blue and the air is clear. Tourists are only very occasionally noticeable.
