After censure: lead hospital remains in public hands

The fact that the new lead hospital for the Liezen district is to be co-funded by Diakonie has been the subject of much criticism - most recently the Court of Auditors also expressed serious concerns about the planned ownership structure. Politicians are reacting: Kages, the Styrian hospital company, becomes the majority owner.

The planned Stainach Clinic as a new central hospital for the Liezen district was to be managed by a management company consisting of Diakonie and Kages, each with a 49 percent stake(we reported). Governor Christopher Drexler, Health Councillor Karlheinz Kornhäusl (both ÖVP) and Head of the Health Fund Michael Koren had to take a lot of criticism for this.
