Torrential rainfall has been battering the country for days. Rivers and streams burst their banks, flash floods swept away cars and countless cellars are flooded. To avoid financial ruin after the destruction, those affected should consider their cover. We took a look at where the pitfalls lie.

The number of storms and extreme weather events is constantly increasing, partly due to global warming. However, many households are underinsured, and it is estimated that only around a quarter have adequate cover. Repairing the car or house can then become very expensive. The conditions vary depending on the storm.
