A "like" here, a comment there, a quick two or three messages and a picture upload, but then it's finally over: the smartphone has long since conquered the bedroom and is often used late into the night before going to bed. But late-night social media use can have "terrible" consequences.
A good night's sleep is important for physical and mental health. However, the former has suffered recently, as a study published by Mississippi State University on the occasion of World Sleep Day on March 18 with the participation of Viennese sleep expert Brigitte Holzinger revealed. According to the study, the frequency of nightmares increased by 4.5 percent worldwide during the coronavirus pandemic.
