The European Football Championship is also leaving its mark on Carinthia. In addition to the horrendous costs that the hotels have to bear and the staffing problems, vacation guests from Germany are also staying away during the summer months. However, the tourism industry is looking forward to this.

After the Carinthian Chamber of Commerce's trend barometer for this year's season (as reported) paints a somewhat gloomy picture, local tourism professionals are taking a more relaxed view. "We simply have to do our homework," says Anton Wrann from the hotel dynasty of the same name on Lake Wörthersee.
