Saddling up by choice?
This is the situation with Kickl’s police horses
Around five years after Herbert Kickl's departure as Minister of the Interior, his prestige project, the mounted police, was recently discussed and joked about in the U Committee. Some police officers may also have cried after Kickl's horses, as a report by the Ministry of the Interior suggests. What exactly it says and what the ministry currently thinks about it.
Many rejections, high annual salaries and countless attempts at political intervention. There really wasn't much to laugh about in the first two weeks of the U Committee. On Wednesday lunchtime, however, there was the occasional sound of laughter in the Erwin Schrödinger room in Parliament. During Wolfgang Peschorn's twelfth (!) questioning in a committee of inquiry, the lawyer of the Republic explained why, as Minister of the Interior, he "stamped out" Herbert Kickl's mounted police.
