Father innocent as child murderer imprisoned for 172 days

The immeasurable grief over the loss of one's own child is suddenly compounded by the shock of being accused by the judiciary of being responsible for the death of a beloved little person. It was not only the drama surrounding Leon in Tyrol that was shocking - in Carinthia, too, a father of a family was long suspected of being a child murderer.

"The Leon case" has been making headlines throughout Austria ever since the acquitted Tyrolean father Florian Apler made serious accusations against the local justice system in a book following the death of his young son - because it is still not clear how Leon died. But there is also a similarly dramatic case in Carinthia involving a deceased child and a wrongly accused father.
