A 27-year-old man in Linz had to pay €2000 for a night in hospital. Reason: He was not insured. In the course of a lifetime, there are several stumbling blocks that can get you kicked off your health insurance. The "Krone" asked the health insurance company what to look out for.

As reported, a 27-year-old man in Linz was admitted to hospital due to mental health problems. It later transpired that he was not compulsorily insured with the health insurance fund (ÖGK). He had to pay 2,000 euros for the night - not an isolated case, as it turned out. Numerous readers came forward who were also unknowingly uninsured.
