Many lively dance parties were celebrated in the "Golden Gate" to the sounds of ABBA, Boney M. and the Bee Gees. Rene Baier was not even born at the time. Now the 38-year-old is breathing new life into the dance temple. Retro-style music and drinks are a must for him.

In the 1980s, the "Golden Gate" in Wels was the epitome of a dance club. To the sounds of ABBA, Boney M. or the Bee Gees, the many regulars partied into the early hours with their DJ Frankie Remias. Then the cult disco suffered the fate of many dance halls. The guests stayed away and the bitter final closing time had to be heralded.
