Local politics is running out of young people and women

A new study by the Carinthian University of Applied Sciences reveals a huge problem for local communities: There is a lack of young people interested in politics - but also a lack of women. A circumstance that could extremely endanger the ability of municipal politics to act in a few years' time. 

Until now, municipal politics has been seen as a stepping stone for young people who want to gain a foothold in politics and climb the career ladder. However, this is likely to have changed fundamentally in recent years. A new study by the Carinthian University of Applied Sciences shows that the promotion of young talent in municipal organizations is lagging far behind.
