1656 young Carinthians are currently trying to get a job or an apprenticeship. But it doesn't seem so easy. The "Krone" asked young Carinthians for their opinion and spoke to experts about the reasons for the rising unemployment figures.

A massive increase of 23.6 percent in the number of unemployed people under the age of 25 has set alarm bells ringing at the Carinthian Public Employment Service (AMS). While the figures are falling in all other age groups, there has been a sharp rise in this category. "This clearly speaks against the trend," says Carinthia's AMS boss Peter Wedenig, who does not want to attribute the reasons for the high unemployment rate to the laziness of young people.
