For almost four years, a special group of the Federal Criminal Police Office and the Vienna public prosecutor's office have been investigating the life confession of the ex-spy chief of the former Federal Office for State Protection and Counterterrorism (BVT). The enormous suspicion: abuse of office, betrayal of secrets, bribery and corruption or secret intelligence service to the detriment of Austria (up to five years imprisonment for this alone).
