Disappointed by a cheap store? How to get your money back
T-shirts for three euros, a shower head for five euros, vacuum cleaners for 20 euros - Chinese stores are conquering the European market. However, both the quality of the products and consumer rights often leave a lot to be desired, and there is talk of "junk commerce". Krone+ explains what you can do if the delivery doesn't arrive or the package contains junk instead of quality and under what circumstances you can withdraw from the purchase for a whole year.
"We are seeing a significant increase in complaints about dropshipping companies," emphasizes Joachim Kogelmann, lawyer at the Association for Consumer Information. With dropshipping, retailers sell goods without ever having them in stock (see fact box). The parcels are now even clogging up air freight. Temu and Shein each ship 4000 to 5000 tons by plane every day. In Germany alone, 400,000 parcels arrive every day, in the USA the figure is 600,000, putting global logistics to the test.
