In 2017, reports about a "horror dentist" from Carinthia caused a stir - 120 patients had complained about him to the patient advocate's office. They also filed a complaint. Not much has come of it to date: the proceedings are still ongoing. "Disappointing", the patient advocate is angry.

Wrong and mostly expensive treatments, unnecessary interventions - the accusations against a former dentist in Carinthia meant that he was quickly banned from practicing his profession. However, the judiciary did not excel in dealing with the scandal. Patients were left behind, whose trust not only in medicine but also in the courts was severely tested.
