The carnival fun quickly came to an end: a school's notification that carnival doughnuts should be donated out of consideration for Muslim children caused irritation among parents. The "Krone" clarified everything and came across another problem area.

"Does my child have to do without the doughnuts because the school is taking Ramadan into consideration?" Parents of pupils at a secondary school in Upper Austria were irritated by a statement from the school. It stated that the school was donating the doughnuts it receives as a reward for taking part in a carnival parade to a kindergarten and a retirement home - referring to the Muslim month of fasting, which began on Friday evening.
