The Austria-wide discussion following the flag removal at the HTL in Braunau raises the question of who or what must always be present in classrooms. In principle, everything is strictly regulated, but there are also exceptions to the rule and "special solutions", as an investigation by the "Krone" newspaper shows.

Because an Austrian flag with a federal eagle seemed inappropriate in a first grade class at the HTL Braunau and had to be removed (we reported), the question arises: Which symbols and portraits of politicians must be present in schools at all?
