Styrian rescue service: “We are ready to help”

There could be a surprising return to the discussion about reforms in the Styrian rescue services: The Samariterbund, which plays a central role in Vienna in particular, is offering its help in a letter to the state. However, the departure from the Green Mark was once not voluntary.

Expandable response times, excessively long waiting times for ambulance transports, a cost explosion of more than 80 percent in five years, inefficient multifunctional structures, unequal treatment of emergency organizations and much more: the most recent Court of Audit report on the Styrian rescue system was a political bombshell. The clear recommendation: reform, reform, reform!
