House builders looked through their fingers after the flood
Many house builders are up to their necks in water. But what if they have not yet finished building their own home - and are therefore not yet registered in Lower Austria? As the "Krone" revealed, the disaster fund then gets out. But those affected can be helped.
Around three years ago, Thomas Kappel from Vienna bought a single-storey house in Bruderndorf near Niederhollabrunn in the district of Korneuburg. Since then, the commercial project manager has been fine-tuning and designing his "retirement home", as he wants to spend the rest of his life there with his wife when he retires. At least that was the 57-year-old's plan.
