Why this election is a tailwind for the Linz SPÖ

Both nationally and in Upper Austria, the SPÖ is not exactly one of the big winners in the National Council elections, rather the opposite. Nevertheless, the result in Linz actually helps the comrades above the Enns. You can read why here. 

It must have been quite a weight off the shoulders of the Linz Reds. Leading Social Democrats such as party leader Michael Lindner and regional party managing director Florian Koppler discussed the results of the National Council elections at an exclusive drink in a city center pub on Monday night - but they were looking much more to their own future.
