Everyone knows that driving drunk is illegal. But not everyone is aware that getting on a bike or e-scooter under the influence of alcohol is also illegal. If you are caught, you will also have to dig deep into your pockets. A recent case shows how expensive it can really get.

Last month, a man from Styria was caught cycling with a blood alcohol level of 0.8. Now the dreaded letter has arrived with the shock news: a fine of 800 euros has to be paid. An additional 80 euros will be added to the costs of the criminal proceedings.
