In the "Welcome to Carinthia" series, the "Krone" once again introduces the new legionnaires of the Carinthian ice hockey clubs. Neo-VSV striker Guus van Nes was already playing in a competitive team at the age of 15. With Vorarlberg, he was able to upset Villach's local rivals KAC in the play-offs in the previous season.

Tulips, cheese, excellent cyclists and footballers - but Dutchmen can also play ice hockey. Of course, like all Dutch boys, Guus van Nes started out playing soccer, but he didn't really like it. At the age of four, a friend dragged him into ice hockey. "I was immediately hooked. It's simply an attractive sport - I couldn't get away from it."
