Bankruptcy vulture circles over Styrian companies

The bankruptcy vulture is circling over Styria: the number of company insolvencies rose by 29.1 percent in the first half of the year, and there was also an increase in private bankruptcies. Why is the economy weakening - and are we already approaching the years of the great financial crisis? We asked credit protection experts.  

It is the largest company bankruptcy in the white-green economy's history and is causing record figures in Styria - unfortunately in a negative sense: the insolvency of e-car manufacturer Fisker. Liabilities have therefore exploded by an incredible 1000 percent (to around 1.5 billion euros) compared to 2023, while the number of employees affected has risen by 47 percent to 1,250 compared to 2023.
