The massive influx of asylum seekers has put pressure on the Viennese school system in particular in recent weeks. The Ministry of the Interior has introduced stricter countermeasures. These are beginning to have an effect. The department has already come across numerous suspected cases of asylum fraud.

The "Krone" has examples of fraudulent family reunification. In one case, for example, it was originally stated that the two children were twins. However, after presenting the birth certificates, it turned out that the two children were siblings, but not twins.
