Goodbye cell phones? The Styrian education councillor is currently considering a ban on smartphones during school lessons. Could smartphones also be banned from Upper Austria's classrooms, we asked pupils, parents and teachers in the "Krone" newspaper. 

"There is no legal basis for a general ban on cell phones," said the Upper Austrian Education Directorate when asked. However: "Individual behavioral agreements can be laid down in the house rules at schools," it continues. And this is exactly what many schools in the province already do.
