Less chamber levy for almost 10,000 businesses?

A small quake is brewing in the Vienna Chamber of Commerce. The two important professional groups of gastronomy and coffee houses want to merge into one mega representation for almost 10,000 businesses. This will save a lot of money. Will member businesses pay less in future? The background.

Briefly explained for outsiders. The Vienna Chamber of Commerce is divided into divisions and specialist groups, which are staffed by functionaries and representatives. The functionaries belong to political groups (as in parliament) or are independent mandataries. In February 2025, the Viennese companies, which are all (compulsory) members of the Chamber, will elect their new representatives. And a major change is now in the offing, as the "Krone" has learned from informed sources.
