Week one without the Lorenz Böhler Hospital: Promised replacement solutions are crumbling at every turn. The AUVA Board of Directors calls a special meeting, as a gap of thousands of operations is looming in Vienna.

On Tuesday, for the first time, a team from the closed Böhler Hospital operated at the Meidling Accident Hospital, and the unfriendliness of the Meidling staff towards the homeless Böhlerians has also stopped after the AUVA top management put its foot down. But this is just a drop in the ocean. The Böhler teams performed 4,751 operations last year - a workload that now has to be divided up among other Viennese hospitals.
