The debate about the deployment of ground troops in Ukraine continues unabated. Alarm bells are ringing in NATO countries. However, this does not necessarily have anything to do with the military alliance. This is also stated in the NATO treaty, which has a back door.
"Nothing should be ruled out", said French President Emmanuel Macron a few weeks ago, triggering a storm of indignation. He brought the deployment of ground troops in Ukraine into play, reacting to a statement by Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico, who is close to the Kremlin, according to which there are European countries that are "thinking about sending ground troops".
