Father fights for child, court does not decide

If a father and mother cannot come to an agreement after a separation, children are often torn between the two. And so it is that a teacher couple in Carinthia have been fighting for two years over every second that the father spends with their daughter - even though he also has custody on paper.

We have already reported on this unbelievable case from Villach: A father had been granted shared custody of their eight-year-old daughter at the beginning of 2022 after divorcing his wife - both teachers and academics. However, this did not work out in practice, so after a few weeks the district court was called in to clarify who should look after the child and when. What was meant to be a quick solution turned into a gauntlet!
