Tax exemption
Tax office senses a loophole for PV savers
The tax exemption for rooftop solar power plants has its pitfalls, especially when it comes to retrofitting storage modules at a reduced rate. Resourceful savers have dared to look across the border, where the rules are somewhat easier, but the tax office is also on the lookout for loopholes.
One EU, one rule, two interpretations to the left and right of the Inn and Salzach rivers! And thus a loophole for PV savers who wanted to retrofit their system with a storage system. Because in Germany, including Bavaria, all photovoltaic components are sold at zero tax rate. "Of course you can also come as an Austrian and get storage modules at the same conditions," was the response of several dealers in and around Passau to "Krone" inquiries. Before one retailer said: "No, the same tax regulations apply for Austrians as in Austria - this was specifically communicated on February 20." What applies now? We clarify!
