Soldiers at the World Ski Championships
“It’s an honor to help out at an event like this”
The Ski Association has been working with the Austrian Armed Forces for many years. This is also the case at the World Ski Championships in Saalbach. 72 soldiers are helping out this time. There was praise in advance at the "Krone" event: from Alpine boss Herbert Mandl and World Championship starter and army athlete Ariane Rädler.
They "fly" over the Zwölferkogel slopes like a swarm of bees, lend a hand on the way down to the valley wherever there is a need - the sixth mountain brigade of the Austrian Armed Forces ensures that the slopes are ready for the World Championships and that safety precautions are in place. "We're ready to go," says Lieutenant Christoph Gruber, 30, commander in Saalbach.
