Wagner opera: A young woman under the spell of the undead

Few Wagner operas are more popular than "The Flying Dutchman". A new production by Hermann Schneider premiered at the Musiktheater Linz. The charismatic baritone Aris Argiris can be seen in the leading role of the "Dutchman". Erica Eloff was absent from the premiere as Senta, but was a remarkable replacement. Markus Poschner and the Bruckner Orchestra performed with the largest symphonic line-up.

It was actually a double premiere: Wagner's "The Flying Dutchman" had been seen at the Landestheater, but never before in music theater. The great work had its premiere here on Saturday and this time manages without metaphysical exaggeration.
