Pregnant: What applies to the father-to-be at work

Most people know that a woman has special protection at work during pregnancy. However, very few people are aware that there are also certain rights for the father-to-be. Employment law expert Jasmin Haindl from the Vienna Chamber of Labor explains.

While the woman has to inform her employer about the pregnancy, the father-to-be does not necessarily have to do so: "The mere fact that you are going to be a father does not have to be reported to the employer," explains employment law expert Jasmin Haindl: "However, if you want to take advantage of a daddy month, parental leave or part-time parental leave, you must notify your employer in good time."
