Students in housing shortage: desperate search

Thousands of students are currently looking for affordable housing again, but can't find any. This is because young people are having to dig deeper and deeper into their pockets for accommodation. But are there even enough places in student halls of residence? 

The country's universities also started a new semester on October 1. There are over 193,000 students in Vienna alone. Among them are many young people who have moved to the capital from their home province to study there. The demand for affordable living space is enormous. This is because the housing shortage among students is increasing sharply and many are finding it difficult to find affordable accommodation. Some find accommodation in a shared flat or student hall of residence.
