Next Thursday, SK Sturm begin their Champions League adventure away to Stade Brest in France at 9pm. A look back at Sturm's great past will not only make fans of the team from Graz rejoice. Back then, the black team caused a sensation throughout Europe.

It was March 13, 2001 and SK Sturm lost 3:0 away to Manchester United - and made history in the process! The defeat at Old Trafford in front of 66,404 fans marked the end of an unprecedented high in Austrian soccer history. Schopp, Haas, Vastic and Co. caused a sensation throughout Europe by reaching the intermediate round (the second group stage at the time).
