48 million euros for asylum seekers in Tyrol

The social budget of the state of Tyrol is rising and rising, but where do all the millions of euros go in detail? The "Krone" asked the responsible SPÖ provincial councillors. The answers provide some interesting details!

At the beginning of the year, Tyrol increased its social welfare rates by almost 10 percent, putting it on a par with Vienna. According to Social Welfare Councillor Eva Pawlata (SPÖ), there are just under 8,200 minimum income recipients in Tyrol as of July. The state spent 48 million euros on them last year. Almost half of this went to people entitled to asylum, which according to a recent provincial parliamentary inquiry was 2894 people in June.
