The black-green coalition promised relief for millions of households when the ORF law was passed in the National Council almost exactly a year ago. Now it is slowly becoming clear who is really footing the bill. 

The GIS is dead, long live the OBS: the contribution office is now collecting the household levy, which replaced the ORF fee at the beginning of the year. The levy is made up of the monthly ORF contribution (now three euros cheaper per month) and the provincial levy, which is only collected in Burgenland, Styria, Carinthia and Tyrol.
