What an inglorious end to a sports career! A former top Carinthian ice hockey player has been in custody in Klagenfurt for months. A few days ago, charges were brought against the man - he is said to have defrauded dozens of people and thus swindled more than a million euros.

For months, investigators in Carinthia were on the trail of a cunning serial fraudster. When it emerged who the alleged suspect was, some ice hockey connoisseurs were astonished: he was a former crack player in the national ice hockey league. He has now been charged - and the accusations are quite serious.
