20 years of change in the center of Lienz

At the end of 2003, the "Obere Altstadt" association was founded in Lienz to improve the district. It was to be more than just a short flight of fancy. The state is also helping to get new districts like the one in Lienz off the ground. Numerous projects have already been realized. 

There are almost two worlds if you compare current images with those of Rosengasse and Johannesplatz in the upper old town of Lienz from a good 20 years ago. On the one hand, an area with lots of traffic and parking. On the other side, a lively, inviting promenade. Large, motorized vehicles are only permitted for loading activities.
