Vienna is becoming increasingly cramped and paying more for it

Viennese are looking for smaller and smaller apartments due to high rents. Most of the scramble in the city's private housing market is now for apartments with barely more than two rooms. In no other federal state has the housing budget fallen so much.

The high cost of living and rents are driving the Viennese into ever smaller apartments, according to a recent data analysis by estate agent ImmoScout24. In just one year, the average housing budget has fallen by 98 euros and now stands at just 892 euros per month. Vienna is therefore the only federal state in which the belt has once again had to be tightened in terms of housing costs.
