Justice’s treasure hunt: Where are 100 million euros?

It is one of the most spectacular criminal cases in Austria - around 40,000 investors are said to have been defrauded of up to 100 million euros using a fantasy currency. But where has the money gone? The regional court in Klagenfurt is currently embarking on a kind of international treasure hunt.

Imagine you give all your money to a supposed investment genius because he promises you 0.32 percent interest per day. In return for your savings, you receive a new type of token that you can't do anything with. Shortly afterwards, your money is gone, the token is worthless - and the investment gurus are now in the dock for serious fraud, money laundering, pyramid schemes and criminal association.
