Who gets how much climate bonus this year

Just a few meters can make all the difference, and that is upsetting. Because with the climate bonus - which, as reported, the government has now presented for this year - there are once again regional differences. The "Krone" provides an overview of how much is paid out in which municipalities in Upper Austria.

The amount of the climate bonus varies again this year. It depends on how well a municipality is connected to public transport and what infrastructure it has, such as schools or hospitals. The theory is that those who rely on their car more often will receive a higher climate bonus as compensation for the CO₂ price. However, the classification made by Statistics Austria is not met with understanding everywhere, as the classification also results in "islands".
