Radicalization on the Internet: What to do about it?

The positive aspects of the Internet cannot be denied. Global networking and easy access to a wealth of information are just two points from a long list. But it also has its downsides: it has never been so easy to become radicalized. What dangers do you see in this regard and what can be done about it?

The spread of extremist ideologies via online platforms is a serious problem. Conspiracy myths and fake news are just the beginning - all too quickly you can end up in echo chambers where you only exchange ideas with like-minded people, which reinforces your own views and can lead to radicalization and extremism. The step from hateful slogans on the internet to violent excesses on the street is easy for some.
