The removal of the foreskin, which covers the end of the penis, is usually carried out for medical or religious reasons, predominantly in infancy or childhood. Apart from this, more and more adult men now want to be circumcised - for completely different reasons, as one expert reports.

Around one in ten men in Austria no longer has the foreskin that normally covers the penis. In most cases, circumcision took place in very early childhood, but men are increasingly opting for this procedure as adults. Opinions are divided. Krone+ asked Dr. Franklin Kuehhas, urologist in Vienna, about the most common reasons and expectations.
