Carinthian tourism defies the winter with little snow

Many Carinthian ski resorts traditionally end the season after Easter. The "Krone" therefore takes stock of the winter season together with the tourism industry. Despite the lack of snow, the businesses are quite satisfied. However, the weather conditions also resulted in positive figures in another area.

"We recorded a slight increase in the past few months. We still need to find out how March has developed," summarizes Sigismund Moerisch, Chairman of the Hotel Industry Division of the Carinthian Chamber of Commerce. However, the functionary also points out that this winter with little snow has certainly been a challenge for businesses and mountain railroads located at lower altitudes. "Guests are mostly drawn to the large ski resorts and hotels located on the slopes."
